The start of Imber Court can be traced to a small building in Trafalgar Square known as Eagle Hut.

The year was 1920, and a meeting was held to discuss the formation of the Metropolitan Police Athletic Association.

Nine years later with the help of the Times Newspaper, the dream was realised, and on the 11th June 1929, with a fanfare from Assistant Commissioner Lt. Col. Sir Percy Laurie Mounted Trumpeters, H.R.H. Prince George, (later to become King) opened Imber Court, the first purpose-built Police Sports Club.

Since then Imber Court has expanded in its sporting facilities and now boasts that its sporting grounds are some of the finest in the U.K. set in nearly 90 acres of park land.
